Becoming a Christian

Connect with God

The greatest thing in the entire world is the love of God. John 3:16 tells us that "God loved the world so much the He gave his one and only Son..."

Yes, God loves you! That means God wants the very best for you. God is for you. God wants more than anything to have a relationship with you.

The great thing about God is that you can always choose Him. Anytime, day or night, you can make a decision to follow Him. He will never be too busy, or distracted, or indifferent to you. God is always ready to welcome you when you choose to follow Him.

You can connect with God simply by reaching out to Him by faith. Tell God you want to know Him better. Ask God to forgive your sins and cleanse your heart and life. Romans 10:9 says, "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."

Knowing God

"For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16 (New Living Translation)

"This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life. God didn't go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again. Anyone who trusts in him is acquitted; anyone who refuses to trust him has long since been under the death sentence without knowing it. And why? Because of that person's failure to believe in the one-of-a-kind Son of God when introduced to him." John 3:16 (The Message)

Here is a prayer you can pray to become a Christ-follower:

God, I come to you in Jesus' name. I believe that Jesus died on the cross, that He shed His precious blood, and that He paid for my sins to rescue me from sin and death.

I believe that Jesus rose from the dead and right now I receive Him as Lord of my life. I am not going to live to please myself any longer. With God's help I am going to live for Jesus Christ every day.

Heavenly Father, I thank you that you have heard my prayer. I am your child now and forever. Amen.
